Formation of the Fisheries Technocrats Forum at Chennai.
A group of fisheries officials who are retired or serving International/central/ state organizations under the leadership of Mr. K. Chidambaram, former Director of M.P.E.D.A. who played a pivotal role in forming an association, namely, The Fisheries Technocrats Forum, with the objectives of promotion of development of fisheries in India with free and frank exchange of knowledge, information and experience among the stake holders and got it registered under the Tamil Nadu Society Act 1975. It has been resolved to meet once in a month, preferably Second Saturday in the library hall of the then Directorate of Fisheries, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Teynampet, Chennai-6 during 1991-2016 and later in the conference hall of the fourth floor in Commissionerate of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Nandanam, Chennai-35, and to achieve the objectives.
Monthly meetings:
The members will assemble every Second Saturday forenoon in the conference hall of the office of the Commissionerate of Fisheries, Govt. of Tamil Nadu from April to March every year and discuss various issues related to Indian inland and marine fisheries and aquaculture.
Annual General Body Meetings:
Every year the annual general body meeting will be held during June/July/August, after serving a notice to the registered members 21 days ahead of the meeting. Apart from approving the agendas circulated earlier to the members, new amendments to the existing bye-laws were also considered. Based on the unanimous selection, an executive council members were selected and their tenue is for one year.
